In February 2008, NRG's #40 anemometer was replaced with its calibrated version, the #40C anemometer. The #40 maximum anemometer was primarily intended for wind prospecting applications. A four-pole magnet induced a sine wave voltage into a coil producing an output signal with a frequency proportional to wind speed. This signal was measured by our data loggers. The #40 was constructed of Lexan. A rubber terminal boot was included.
