CRBasic Editor

The CRBasic Editor is a PC-compatible software application for writing data logger programs in Campbell Scientific's CRBasic programming language. It offers a multi-window programming environment with instruction parameter prompts, a comprehensive on-line help system, and example programs for each instruction. Syntax highlighting and a program precompiler provide for efficient writing of complex code. 

The CRBasic Editor is included in LoggerNet, LoggerNet Admin, LoggerNet Remote, PC400, and RTDAQ.

The CRBasic Editor is a feature-rich program editor that supports all instructions and functions contained in the data logger operating system. It is intended for use by an experienced data logger programmer who needs more flexibility than what is found in the Short Cut Program Generator (SCWin). Data logger programs generated by SCWin can be opened and edited in the CRBasic Editor. (Program changes, however, do not integrate back into SCWin.) Creating a program in SCWin and then completing more complex programming tasks in the CRBasic Editor is an efficient way to add the needed code to a CRBasic program to measure specific sensors, allowing you to dedicate more time in CRBasic to tasks not supported by SCWin.

The stand-alone installation of the CRBasic Editor provides a cost-effective way to provide a licensed copy of the CRBasic Editor to individual users who need a programming tool. Using the stand-alone CRBasic Editor along with PC200W or the Device Configuration Utility, technicians can make programming changes in the field with a lower investment cost.

The CRBasic programming language is similar in syntax, program flow, and logic to the BASIC programming language. Many mathematical functions, operators, and logic statements found in BASIC languages are also found in CRBasic.

License for Use

CRBasic Editor is copyrighted software. Campbell Scientific distributes this software free of charge to enable users to work with Campbell Scientific data acquisition equipment. CRBasic Editor nor any of its files may be sold or included in any other software or altered in any way without prior permission from Campbell Scientific, Inc.

Limited Warranty

Campbell Scientific, Inc., does not warrant that the software will meet licensee’s requirements or that the software or documentation are error free or that the operation of the software will be uninterrupted. Campbell Scientific, Inc., is not responsible for problems caused by computer hardware, computer operating systems or the use of Campbell Scientific, Inc.’s software with non-Campbell Scientific, Inc. software.

All warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose are disclaimed and excluded. Campbell Scientific, Inc., shall not in any case be liable for special, incidental, consequential, indirect, or other similar damages even if Campbell Scientific, Inc., has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Campbell Scientific, Inc., is not responsible for any costs incurred as result of lost profits or revenue, loss of use of the software, loss of data, cost of re-creating lost data, the cost of any substitute program, claims by any party other than licensee, or for other similar costs.

Licensee’s sole and exclusive remedy is set forth in this limited warranty. Campbell Scientific, Inc.’s aggregate liability arising from, or relating to, this agreement or the software or documentation (regardless of the form of action; e.g., contract, tort, computer malpractice, fraud and/or otherwise) is limited to the purchase price paid by the licensee.
