Installing the DustVue™10

Overview

Dust buildup on solar panels reduces energy production and impacts plant performance. The first step in managing soiling is measuring it accurately. In this video, you'll learn how the Campbell Scientific DustVue™10 directly measures dust accumulation using the IEC 61724-1 preferred method of comparing a naturally soiled PV cell to a clean reference cell. We'll show how to mount the DustVue 10 on a torque tube, explain how the sliding shutter protects the clean reference cell, and demonstrate how the system calculates soiling loss. You'll also learn how to complete the dashboard setup, apply the required offset update, and verify Modbus communications with a data logger or SCADA system.
