PCONNECT

PConnect software supports communications between a Palm OS-based PDA and a Campbell Scientific data logger. It allows you to carry only your PDA and cables instead of a laptop computer to interface with your data logger and collect your data.

The software is supplied on CD-ROM. The connection between the PDA and data logger is supported by a variety of mechanisms (direct serial connection, RF401-series spread spectrum radio, SC-IRDA Infrared interface, and Bluetooth). Please see the information under the Compatibility tab for details.

PConnect can be used to collect data from the data logger, and transfer the data to an office PC. Collected data is transferred to the PC during the HotSync process. This process also synchronizes program files between the PDA and PC.

Functions supported by PConnect include the capability to:

• Communicate at baud rates of 38,400 bps (CR1000, CR800, CR850, CR23X, CR3000) and 9,600 bps (all other data loggers)
• Create unique station files for each data logger
• Collect data from the data logger
• Transfer data logger programs between the data logger and PDA
• Display real-time and historical data. Real-time data is updated every two seconds
• Graph one element from any array
• Set data logger flags, ports, and clock
• Access the data logger terminal mode
• Use memory expansion cards to augment the PDA's memory
