Prior to serial number 19310 (September 2014), the 19237 cover was included with the AM16/32B. Now, however, removable terminals are used for the AM16/32B, and the cover must be purchased separately as needed. 

The 19237 helps reduce thermal gradients across the input terminals (a potential source of error, especially for thermocouple measurement) and protects the input connections from unintended jostling.
